Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine beside a spring; its branches climb over the wall. The archers attacked him, shot at him, and were hostile toward him. Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, Genesis 49:22-24
The Ephraimite archers turned back on the day of battle. They did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live by His law. They forgot what He had done, the wonderful works He had shown them. Psalms 78:9-11
It is easy to forget what God has done. He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. He has given us the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. We must walk in courage according to the promises. Ephraim forgot the blessing spoken over their father, Joseph, that their bow would remain steady. Instead the archers turned back on the day of battle.
Even with our limited resources, God will make a way. Be strong and courageous.
